pretty new things

now that i am getting closer to ny, i am going on shopping trips with (almost) total disregard for getting good deals to get things i need, it's so bad i even bought some things that weren't on sale this weekend. this weekend i became the proud owner of the following:

- GPS (MIO c230, cheapest one, but good value)
- an overpriced belt (it's tactical)
- a small security box/safe
- a AAA membership (for the inevitable breakdown/dead battery on my issued car in ny)

and i'm almost the owner of a two month sublet in brooklyn paying a monthly rent that is triple what i pay currently in dc. good times. at least i held off on buying a new winter coat (it's clearance time), although that's probably going to happen sometime soon. oh yeah, and then there's the (low end) tailored suits which i'll need to get made sometime in the next few weeks/month. i probably shouldn't have thrown away that money into citigroup, who knew the world's largest bank could actually be going bankrupt (or so it seems from their stock).
