happy 2008

i'll have to be careful about mentioning things like men's health, because then i get comments about the Abs diet from random people searching. let's see if i get more comments now. probably not though, because with all the new years resolution blog postings out there, i'm sure they'll have plenty of other places to promote it.

anyways, happy 08 to all of you. i rang in the new year with a bunch of folks down at camp q. went out and did the pizza thing for dinner and then played some pool and ping pong through midnight. nothing crazy, but a good time overall.

the most exciting/disgusting/crappy thing of last week was that we did parts of the obstacle course/leadership reaction course that the marine officers do. it was fairly warm for december 28th, but we were outside for hours in shorts/t-shirts. at the end they made us low crawl under the barb wire through this freezing, putrid water. yeah, that was fun. let's just say that all the enlisted guys know the marine officers have to crawl through this stuff so they keep that pool of water nice and "fresh"

i washed every piece of clothes/shoes i had on three times that evening. still not sure it's all clean. oh yeah, and you can imagine what the 30 minute bus ride home was like when you have 45 cold, pleasant smelling people on a small bus with a crazy bus driver constantly pumping the brakes.
