cakes and more cakes

there's going to be a couple of these cakes in the next day or so as i (too) suddenly wrap up my involvement with organizations i've been committed to for a while now. this one was from the monthly doorways get together. people of course stood up and said all too nice things, giving me too much credit, but it was quite touching when a couple of the kids hugged me goodbye. i'm going to miss helping out there. tomorrow will be the hastily arranged office roast goodbye.

yeah, i've left out some critical background here haven't i. patience, no complaining (i've turned off comments).

addendum: i just opened the card that came with the cake, and they are too much. i got more overly nice words and a very useful gift certificate. good cause, great people.
