isn't that the way it always goes
so, i was up early this morning on the way to my 8:50 AM church service. about 2 minutes from my house, i realize i left my iphone at home. i considered turning around, but said, nah, what could possibly happen on a sunday morning that i need to call someone.
about 2 minutes after that on the highway i hear some awful noise from the back of my car. i thought i was dragging a muffler or something like that. thankfully, there's a wide shoulder right where it happened and i pulled over. seeing that my bumper/muffler/etc were still attached i take a look at my less than two year old tire. i see what is essentially a hex wrench set with two punctures embedded into my tire, and the rest of the tool hanging out making the car completely undriveable. at least, i wised up and instead of calling someone out to change my tire (not that i could without my phone) i pulled the jack out of the trunk and after about half an hour of laying on the street hearing cars whiz by, i got the spare on, drove to goodyear, and $100 and hour later had another new tire. first time i ever changed a tire, i guess it's a useful skill to know.
unfortunately, since i left the phone at home, i have no pictures of the damage or the spectacle of me trying to use that lousy jack that comes with your car. it wasn't as nice as the one below, but the culprit is something like the below. who leaves that in the middle of the road.

In addition to being a blog, i've decided to turn this into a personal webpage. I've realized that
this template they give me makes it super easy to create personal webpages and what not and I will take full advantage.

Oh, Jimmy. Too bad you left that fancy phone at home. I'm pretty sure there's a button you can push that transforms it into a helpful, freakishly strong robot that can change flat tires. Oh well, next time then.
