holiday week

well it was a nice, easy week due to the 4th of july. i managed to get a few things done, although i did not really make any progress yet towards finding a place to live come august. i did spend some time out in the 90+ degree heat (and getting worse) and i did manage to finish House of Spirits, which reminded me that i really like isabelle allende. i also discovered that house of spirits was turned into a motion picture with lots of celebrities, maybe i'll look for it at the library. speaking of library movies, i did see 12 monkeys last night. it was entertaining enough. anyways, i did take a couple of pictures:

While this may look nice, it's really the dirty potomac a little south of where i live. this was the nicest picture i could stop and take on my bike ride on the 4th.

and this picture was too cute for me to pass up on my bike ride back through old town, alexandria.
