at least i can still type
yesterday morning i joined numerous dea employees across the country in participating in the "maltz challenge" which honored the memory of Msgt Maltz, who was a huge fitness guy and the brother of an agent in my building. The challenge was a "cross fit" one where you push yourself physically to complete all the tasks in the shortest time possible. you have to complete each element in its entirety before moving on to the next one. ours was:
400m run, 50 pullups, 200m fireman's walk, 50 dips, 100 pushups, 50 knees to elbows, 100 situps, 400m run
i didn't set any speed records, but did finish without throwing up. today, my entire upper body is seriously feeling the after-effects of all that. i don't have much range of motion in my arms, but at least i can type, which is good because i've got a fantasy baseball draft this afternoon. i'm definitely going to let my emotions get in the way and favor mets' players and not picking any cubs, yankees, or braves.
