In addition to being a blog, i've decided to turn this into a personal webpage. I've realized that
this template they give me makes it super easy to create personal webpages and what not and I will take full advantage.

Veteran's Day
since it was 75 degrees out and i had never been to any of the war memorials, i hopped on the old borrowed trek bike and rode/walked around DC for about 4.5 hours. here are some photos.

After touring the memorials, i also swung by the white house, here's the yet to be decorated Christmas tree, the j edgar hoover building (where i ate my potbelly's wreck sandwich, yes again), and then some anti-war protest where they planted 1000+ flags.
On the way home, i also took some videos using my cell phone of planes flying overhead, and taking a page from frank's book here they are up on you tube (click all my videos to see them both).

How did you like the WWII memorial? We took my grandparents to visit it a few years ago and they loved it. It seems so much more accessible and (dare I say) cheerful than the other war memorials in DC. While we were there a bunch of kids were splashing in the shallow fountain and a wedding party was having a group picture taken out front. My grandfather walked right up and got in the picture, standing right next to the bride. No one seemed to notice or care that he was neither wearing a pink bow tie or Hispanic...
What the hell is on your head?
j- it's called a helmet, it protects that $120000 investment in my head.
m- it is much more cheery than the other dark memorials for the asian wars. it's quite a magnificent site. there are clear signs saying not to throw coins into the fountains, maybe they should make one for children too.
