gave in

the central AC is cranking away. we couldn't handle it anymore, thankfully this heatwave is supposed to pass tomorrow. today i dealt with an enormously beauracratic system in trying to get the G to pay off my student loans. i was apparently not the only procrastinator. I walked into the Assistant director's office at 3.30 and had the paperwork signed right there on the spot. The trick though was to get the paperwork to staffing by the firm 5pm deadline. I won't get into it but let me just say that it was an adventure where i got about 3 really lucky breaks. of course they had tons of applications so i don't know how much funding they have, but let's cross our fingers. the G paying my loans would make up for the stock market losses and then some. the good news is that anyone else who waited till the deadline was probably SOL so that lowers the competition a bit.

i see that the Mets called up Milledge. He better be all that and then some.

i saw william and sarah made the alum magazine, many of us were in there too under
"friends from the class of 02 and 03." It certainly wasn't Ben and Lina's announcement rattling off like 20 names.

it's incredible what's happening to XM radio. I refuse to believe that Sirius should trade at any premium at all much less the one it has given XM's OEM placements everywhere, but boy is that decision costing me an arm and a leg so far.

This is a sad commentary on urban public schools when this is the first black valedictorian in 90 years at a school 90+% black.
