crazy people

the crazy people were shooting cops today. if you want to see how close we are to that location, compare the map on the post article, to some paranoid drug dealer's eyeballing the dea site. we're the second location on the page (the area is much more developed nowadays, that's way outdated).

i of course gave the typical NY response: oh, there's a potential cop killer/car jacker on the loose in the local area, roads are closed ... that's not good ... how the heck am i going to get home ... how does this effect me and me alone ...

the answer ended up being that i stayed at work to do some of the work i didn't feel like doing during the day and waited till rush hour passed. the taxpayer got their money's worth today.

i would like to point out that yesterday i resisted mightily the urge to mention the mets. a very rare occurence these days. that obviously couldn't continue, so here's an article. Read the last 5 paragraphs. yes, i have to accept and move on don't i?

on a stock note, there were an awful lot of "hot deals" at Fatwallet recently for dell computers, and i actually read a post or two saying something to the effect of wow, dell must be really struggling to sell computers, and lo and behold, dell announces slowdowns this evening. ah, 20/20 hindsight.
