oh well
GMU couldn't win forever. it was fun while it lasted though.
now i can turn my attention back to the mets who people are predicting a third place finish. those sportsline bums.
apparently there are lots of mets fans out there, because all the betting money is flowing that way. look at these betting lines
Happy springing forward
edit: further research shows that most analysts are indeed picking the mets to be in the playoffs. it just so happened that the only prediction i had read prior to this afternoon was this guy at sportsline.
edit2: and Victor Zambrano had better win 15 games this year. because he's over 30 now and Scott Kazmir is about to be one the youngest opening day starters ever.

if there were a way, i'd take the other side of the oakland a's championship bet. i agree with the "market" in that there's a good chance they'll be one of the top teams, but they're pretty high up there. given their tendency for slow starts, can probably get in at a lower price.
i would do the same with your mets.
yeah, i don't think you can bet on teams not to win titles, that's impossible really to handicap.
the mets are slow finishers this year if anything. it depends on how their health holds up over 162 games. lots of old dudes in that starting rotation.
i'm sure there's some synthetic way of doing it by buying the futures for the other teams that can be expected to win, though it may be costly. i'm not going to think too hard about it though.
