i feel (not) pretty
cue west side story music.
well today i got my root canal re-done. it didn't hurt, but the smell of cutting off the crown and the sound of cracking it off with the pliers or whatever was interesting. the dentist showed me the x-ray at the end and confidently declared that it's right this time. apparently i had a split root. of course, i have no crown or anything on for the next two weeks as he wants to make sure the infection dies off before even gluing a temporary crown on there. after that i have to wait six months to make sure the bone heals before he puts on the permanent crown. i guess it's wise to err on the side of caution since this is already attempt two, and you don't want bacterial infections in the mouth. those have easy access to the bloodstream i think.
anyways, the point is, without the temporary crown i basically have half a tooth at tooth #4 on the top. it's just in view if i do a full smile and quite bizarre looking. there goes my plans to pick up girls with the old big smile for the next couple of weeks.
i was going to title this taxes, death, braves beat mets. however, i thought i'd give the mets talk a break for a bit. the good part about the dentist was that i got to leave work at 2 and it's 80 degrees out and a softball night. time to eat, i can almost feel my lips again.
