san antonio
some thoughts from the trip:
- it's nice in march, probably the only time of year when it is nice
- is not worth the 12+ hours in flights/airports for the day and a half conference
- i ate mexican food three days in a row, twice at the same restaurant
- read two books on aforementioned flights
- likely coming down with some illness from the exhaustion
- military special ops guys are insane (shoot first, throw everyone in gitmo mentality)
- the alamo is really small
- the alamo was the only san antonio attraction i saw, and we just drove by it
- has the world's most confusing highway systems
- Whatta-Burger is pretty much Burger King despite the hype, although employees are friendly.
that's pretty much it. in addition to feeling a bit sick, i went to my dentist today and he informed me that my root canal isn't looking like it should. he's going to have to redo it. at least he recognizes it as his fault and isn't charging me, however the experience i'm sure will be less than pleasant, and if he fails the second time... there's an expression about hitting the fan.
