untitled

what's with starting major football games at 8:30 EST in the middle of a week. After a night of volunteering, i headed to a football watching party which i hoped to leave early after the game was in hand. since that didn't happen, i made it home at about 1 AM last night, mind you i leave around 7 am in the morning and having never pulled an all nighter in my life i'm not used to getting less than 7 hours of sleep. nevertheless, i was a zombie for much of the day at work, but managed to make it home without falling asleep at the wheel which makes it a successful day in my book.

speaking of work, my agency is driving me nuts, they are making my promotion overly difficult (especially when another agency has all but explicitly said they would skip me ahead one promotion if i jumped over), and everyone keeps asking me for help like i actually do work. i've suddenly become a contact for everyone - that's what you get for being competent, nice, and reliable in the government. I'm getting people i've never heard of calling me now, i think i'm approaching 4 hours of solid work every day, good thing i'm never at my desk (busy "liasoning") to answer my phone (6 messages today), otherwise who knows how much work i'd have.

and as mentioned in a previous post, Pat Robertson really needs to learn to shut up.

Congratulations on your promotion(s)! Keep it up. I can envision your higher spying authority to be helpful someday, if that is what you continue to pursue.

it should be noted that promotions in the govt are automatic after certain time periods (12 months at the lower levels), so it's not a huge achievment. skipping a grade level would be though.
