Our local celebrity's turn to shine

no apprentice spoilers here, since it's less than 20 minutes into tonight's episode, first commercial break.

let's just say it's becky's big day, lots of face time on the camera. i would say first impressions say the women win because they interact better naturally and are less into technology than the men (thus likely to better relate to the seniors) and they are prettier than the men (thus, easier to interact with, make people feel good, etc). however, it's pretty typical in the apprentice to have the obvious should be winner be the loser. As usual, in the early going, they're cutting to certain scenes where there may be problems for both. event planning for women and complicated tech for the men. i'm honestly more excited for Kristen Johnson joining ER tonight and laying the smack down.

completely unrelated, katie holmes and tomcat. no further comments on that fiasco.

this is a spoiler.

well, the show in typical predictable fashion went down as i surmised. however, beck certainly threw us a curveball in the boardroom. we'll see if she makes it (after commercial). it's 50/50 in my opinion. i don't feel great about her decision but the loss was definitely due to the planning.

the thing that bothered me about her and Toral is that they were very conceited, to the point where they thought the tasks meant nothing. i agree that the tasks on the show are not meaningful predictors of future success, but just the way they carried themselves, it's like they think unless its some sort of academic decathalon, the whole thing is pointless. damn snobs aren't all that great to begin with. how many of you think she got her jobs with her smarts? heck she can't even model or crunch numbers (see her casting interview online). bofa is also not some powerhouse in M&A.

lastly, i was very surprised at the lack of blame thrown at Rebecca. in all cases, i think project leaders should take ownership of the project, but she just delegated and her strategy ws to pass the buck if it didn't go right. not exactly the kind of attitude that gets stuff done.

i don't think she should win it all, but i'm kind of glad she's still there. makes things a little more interesting just because we have some affiliation with her.

My only comment is that she should've raised her crutches higher. As I recall, she wasn't as tall as a giant, so there should've been room for adjustment.
