novacaine, i love you
well the root canal process was long (2 hours) but painless as far as the drilling and what not. all thanks to my good friend novacaine which i'm thankfully still feeling the effects of as i type. this honeymoon probably won't last forever as the dentist did have me take 2 advil before i left, so i can only surmise what happens after the novacaine wears off. i am at least alive and the procedure didn't drive up too much anxiety, although before it started the hygenist asked me if i wanted some valium to settle the nerves since i was so nervous. yeah, i'm a wuss, but i did the manly thing this time and refused the drugs and was better after the novacaine injection was no big deal (thanks to a topical novacaine applied before the injection so i never saw/felt the needle). had a little hiccup when the temporary crown broke but other than that, it wasn't bad at all. worth every penny (all 62000 of them) extra that my dentist might cost.
And say a prayer to whoever you you pray to for the people still stranded in New Orleans and surrounding areas. i can't imagine what they're going through. i'd rather have 8 teeth pulled and 4 root canals than to face what they are facing.
