quick update

all right, i'm back to blogging. i survived the entire week without my car, drove my landlords 130k mile, 10 year old nissan 3 times without incident (damn, those are well made machines) and took the train twice and got picked up by a coworker at the last stop who drove me into work. Get this, the round trip fare on the train that drops me off a 20 minute drive from work is $8/day. what a ripoff. no wonder everyone drives around here. Thankfully the taxpayers picked up the cost of my train riding those 2 days. The car is fixed and they repainted the back, it looks pretty good actually. amazing what a new coat of paint can do for appearances. if it weren't so old i'd repaint the whole thing. another thing about taking the train is that it's a bit under 2 hours each way, spending all that time commuting really kills your day. i didn't do any volunteering, etc and still found myself with like 3 hours of free time/day thanks to 4 hours of commuting. now i know why people who work hard or commute long have no time for anything. also, the last few days at work the agents have discovered i'm actually somewhat competent and the work has started pouring in. you'll be happy to know, i worked 3 separate cases in the last 2 days putting your tax dollars to good use. All right, that's enough for now. i think my next post will be on "you're only young once" since i keep getting that from people.

i should also add that after paying for some car repairs, paying my first low insurance bill (going up next renewal), and writing some checks to charity i managed to clear $1700 from my bank account today. that would've been a nice laptop and mp3 player and all i have to show for it is the same car i always had.
