The Big Acronym Act
Although i've never voted for a republican, i'm not a bush hater either and i do stand with him on providing adequate tools to obstruct terrorism.
I will be the first to admit that the PATRIOT act is the biggest invasion of privacy ever created. It basically strips away almost all accountability to the public and does away with much of the whole checks and balances of power created by the constitution. It has created a very slippery slope, perhaps not to tyranny and goolags, but slippery nonetheless. However, when those planes hit, the loss of freedom was inevitable and looking at it from the other side, the PATRIOT act is admittedly one of the most useful tools out there in aiding the war against terror. For those who have seen the headlines about the job we did pre 911, we need as much help as we can get. It is one of those necessary evils that exist in this day and as long as people remain scared, it'll be here for the long run. Let's just hope that it continues to be used in a responsible manner.
It continues to be brutally hot/humid out here. i'm thinking of hanging up the running shoes for the summer. with the heat/humidity, even running after sunset is hard. For those missing my thoughts on the mets, i'll have some this weekend. For anyone missing my whining about Netflix stock, go read the stocks page.
Coming Up: Social Security (j/k, one political comment every couple weeks is enough).
